News on Google’s acquisition of Frommer’s

The interesting thing about Google acquiring Frommer’s, and earlier Zagat, is that both operations are high-quality traditional content providers with  professional staffers creating the content. Google is clearly aiming to build a comprehensive travel business and also become a media company rather than pure search player.

Tnooz has one of the best analyses. Google can potentially offer a better user experience and get more viewership for it’s own content, likely at the expense of other content providers:
